Questions & Answers

Q. When do we vote on the Tentative Agreement?
A. The TA was reached January 20.  We are still finalizing the timeline, but anticipate it will be put to the membership for ratification on or about February 6 with the votes being tallied on or about February 27.

Q. Can all Cape Air pilots vote on the Tentative Agreement?
A. All members of APA Teamsters Local 1224 are eligible to vote.  Those who have chosen not to become members or who have not completed an application for membership to APA Teamsters Local 1224 are not eligible to vote and, thus, will not have the opportunity to vote on Cape Air’s first contract.

Q. What do I need to do to become a member?
A. Download the Membership Application and Dues Check-off Authorization forms or talk to a member of your Executive Council to obtain one.  Complete and return the forms immediately via fax to 937-383-0902 or email to dewing@apa1224.org. Follow up by mailing the original document to Dee Ewing at 2754 Old State Route 73, Wilmington, OH 45177.

Q. To whom do I submit my Membership Application?
A. Please return the original membership application as follows: Complete your application, scan and email to dewing@apa1224.org, or you may Fax to 937-383-0902. It is imperative that you complete your membership application immediately so that you will be able to vote on your first contract. Completing the application, submitting it and its electronic receipt at the Local will allow you to vote.  However, the Local is required to obtain an original signature, so we request also that you follow up by mailing the original signed document to: APA Teamsters Local 1224, 2754 Old State Route 73, Wilmington, OH 45177, Attention: Dee Ewing.

Q. Why should I fill out and submit a Dues Check-off Authorization form?
A. As a crewmember represented by the collective bargaining agreement, you will have an obligation to pay monies to the Union. These funds are used to represent you and protect the administration of the agreement. If you do not have your dues automatically deducted, it costs your Union money and resources to collect dues, undermining those resources we need to protect you. As an added benefit, it is a far more secure and easy way to stay in good standing. The Union will monitor and correct any errors the Company may make.

Q. I’m not certain if I’ve submitted my Membership Application or the Dues Check-off form.  How do I find out if I still need to submit these documents to the Local?
A. APA Teamsters Local 1224 has posted a seniority list that indicates where forms have been received or where they are lacking.  Click here to check your status.
